Megève – Saint-Gervais, France

Sabaudia

Runs by difficulty

  • blue 71.2 km
  • red 59.0 km
  • black 24.0 km

The split comes from OpenStreetMap. A run with no difficulty tag falls into none of the three bars, so they can add up to less than the resort total.

quiet moderate holiday peak too little snow or outside the holiday calendar snowy and quiet

The colours under the axis show school-holiday traffic per week of winter 2026/2027, from the holidays chapter — the curve is a long-term average, the traffic is this one season. A green band marks a quiet week in a month with at least 70 % of the snowiest month’s snowfall. This season: 7 Dec – 20 Dec, 11 Jan – 31 Jan.

This is snowfall, not snow depth on the slope: it says how much usually falls in a given month, not how much lies there. The measuring point sits close to the valley floor, so higher up it snows more.

Places to stay by the lift

Distance is measured in a straight line to the base station of the nearest lift. No booking site publishes that number — it comes from matching accommodation against lift geometry.

  • 1 within 300 m
  • 11 within 1 km
  • 129 places in the valley

The closest one stands 93 m from a lift.

Is Megève – Saint-Gervais worth it?

Megève is one of the oldest and most elegant resorts in France — the Rothschild family developed it in the 1920s as a French answer to St. Moritz. Its signature to this day is not steepness but style: gentle, wooded slopes, a view of the Mont Blanc massif and a town with a cobbled square. Together with neighbouring Saint-Gervais it forms the Evasion Mont-Blanc area.

In our measurement from OpenStreetMap it comes to about 202 km of pistes, weighted toward easy and intermediate. This is a big, calm area — ideal for clocking up kilometres and for learning rather than hunting hard runs; there is little that is steep.

Much of the skiing runs through forest and lies lower than at high glacier resorts, so snow depends more on weather and snowmaking here. The season usually runs from December to April; check exact elevations with the operator.

We give the ski pass as a six-day adult ticket for the Evasion Mont-Blanc area: €324.50 from the resort's rate list (checked 13 August 2026). Check prices with the operator before you travel. The drive from Poland: about 1,331 km from Wrocław, 1,492 from Katowice, 1,568 from Kraków.
