Runs by difficulty
- blue 50.3 km
- red 67.2 km

The split comes from OpenStreetMap. A run with no difficulty tag falls into none of the three bars, so they can add up to less than the resort total.

How much snow is forecast
No snowfall is forecast for the days ahead — computed for 2,095 m above sea level.
This is a weather-model forecast, not a measurement taken on the mountain: it says how much snow is expected to fall. Forecast: Open-Meteo, CC BY 4.0. Data fetched 15 August, 05:26.

This is snowfall, not snow depth on the slope: it says how much usually falls in a given month, not how much lies there. The measuring point sits close to the valley floor, so higher up it snows more.

Places to stay by the lift
Distance is measured in a straight line to the base station of the nearest lift. No booking site publishes that number — it comes from matching accommodation against lift geometry.
- 19 within 300 m
- 165 within 1 km
- 291 places in the valley
The closest one stands 96 m from a lift.

Is Mayrhofen worth it?
Mayrhofen lies in the Zillertal valley in Tyrol and is one of its largest resorts. The skiing spreads over two mountains above the town -- Penken and Ahorn -- and down Penken runs the Harakiri, the steepest groomed piste in Austria, with a gradient reaching 78 percent.
In our measurement from OpenStreetMap it comes to about 133 km of pistes -- one of the larger areas in this set. Most runs are intermediate, but alongside the Harakiri and a few other steep faces there is plenty of gentler cruising too. The town is known for its lively après-ski.
Penken reaches around 2,095 m and the valley sits at 670 m, so the vertical is very large and some runs return almost to the town itself. The season usually runs from December to April.
The price we give is a one-day adult ticket -- €82 from the Zillertal Superskipass rate list (checked 14 August 2026). Check prices with the operator before you travel. The drive from Poland is, per OpenStreetMap, about 894 km from Wrocław, 871 from Katowice and 947 from Kraków.
