Runs by difficulty

  • blue 19.6 km
  • red 20.6 km
  • black 9.4 km

The split comes from OpenStreetMap. A run with no difficulty tag falls into none of the three bars, so they can add up to less than the resort total.

This is snowfall, not snow depth on the slope: it says how much usually falls in a given month, not how much lies there. The measuring point sits close to the valley floor, so higher up it snows more.

Places to stay by the lift

Distance is measured in a straight line to the base station of the nearest lift. No booking site publishes that number — it comes from matching accommodation against lift geometry.

  • 27 within 300 m
  • 167 within 1 km
  • 311 places in the valley

The closest one stands 34 m from a lift.

Is Kranjska Gora worth it?

Kranjska Gora lies in the Julian Alps of north-western Slovenia, right where the borders of Austria and Italy meet. It is the best-known Slovenian resort, host of the World Cup slalom on the Podkoren slope, and a few kilometres away stand the ski-flying hills of Planica.

In our measurement from OpenStreetMap it comes to about 50 km of pistes. The lower, wide runs are gentle and good for learning, and higher up a few steeper race pistes are added -- the resort combines a family character with a genuine World Cup slope.

The slopes drop towards a valley ringed by the three-thousanders of the Julian Alps, but the ski area itself is not high, so snowmaking matters here. The season usually runs from December to March.

The price we give is a one-day adult ticket -- €49 from the high-season rate list (checked 14 August 2026). Check prices with the operator before you travel. The drive from Poland is, per OpenStreetMap, about 924 km from Wrocław, 779 from Katowice and 855 from Kraków.
