This is snowfall, not snow depth on the slope: it says how much usually falls in a given month, not how much lies there. The measuring point sits close to the valley floor, so higher up it snows more.

Places to stay by the lift

Distance is measured in a straight line to the base station of the nearest lift. No booking site publishes that number — it comes from matching accommodation against lift geometry.

  • 12 within 300 m
  • 114 within 1 km
  • 196 places in the valley

The closest one stands 78 m from a lift.

What makes Nassfeld different

Nassfeld lies in Carinthia, right on the Italian border, on the sunny southern side of the Carnic Alps. For anyone from Poland it is one of the closest large Alpine resorts: about 800 km from Katowice, 874 from Kraków, 944 from Wrocław — genuinely a single day's drive. From the valley at Tröpolach the Millennium Express gondola, one of the longer lift chains in the Alps, carries you up into the area, and it is the resort's signature.

Up top waits a big, broad mountain: 161 runs and 29 lifts. Most are red — 89 of the 161, with 67 blue and only 5 black — so this is a hill for putting down kilometres on long, easy descents rather than hunting steep terrain. The area reaches the border ridge, and from some of the lifts you ski down toward Pramollo on the Italian side.

For a resort this close to the border, snow is not the problem. December brings around 93 cm on average, January and February over 70 each. The base station at Tröpolach stands low, about 1,140 m, but the skiing plays out higher up where the snow holds better; the season runs from December to April. The lower runs are worth checking before you travel in a warmer winter.

A six-day adult ski pass in high season costs €381 at the window (the 2026/27 season pricelist, checked August 2026), €353 in the lower season; Nassfeld also sells a cheaper flex pass bought online in advance. Check prices with the operator before you travel, as they change each season. The drive from Poland runs through the Czech Republic and Austria, via Vienna and Villach.
