Runs by difficulty
- blue 58.9 km
- red 41.7 km
- black 22.2 km
The split comes from OpenStreetMap. A run with no difficulty tag falls into none of the three bars, so they can add up to less than the resort total.

How much snow is forecast
No snowfall is forecast for the days ahead — computed for 2,597 m above sea level.
This is a weather-model forecast, not a measurement taken on the mountain: it says how much snow is expected to fall. Forecast: Open-Meteo, CC BY 4.0. Data fetched 15 August, 05:26.

| night | -5° | -8° | -9° | -7° | -6° | -3° |
This is snowfall, not snow depth on the slope: it says how much usually falls in a given month, not how much lies there. The measuring point sits close to the valley floor, so higher up it snows more.

- 352 places in the valley
The closest one stands 37 m from a lift.

Is Sestriere (Via Lattea) worth it?
Sestriere was built in the 1930s as one of Europe's first purpose-built ski resorts -- with two round tower hotels that still stand. In 2006 it held the Alpine events of the Turin Winter Olympics. The village sits very high, on a mountain pass, which is rare for the Alps and gives it reliable snow.
In our measurement from OpenStreetMap the Sestriere sector comes to about 81 km of pistes, but the resort is part of the Via Lattea -- the "Milky Way" -- which links it by lift to Sauze d'Oulx, Sansicario and on to Montgenèvre in France. There is more hard terrain here than in the gentle Dolomite resorts; Sestriere has a World Cup slope and steep runs off the ridge.
The height of the village and the runs means cold snow and a long season, but also wind on the open, treeless slopes. The season usually runs from December to April.
The price we give is a six-day adult ticket for the whole Via Lattea -- €294.50 from the online high-season rate list (checked 13 August 2026). Check prices with the operator before you travel. The drive from Poland is, per OpenStreetMap, about 1,386 km from Wrocław, 1,474 from Katowice and 1,550 from Kraków.
