Runs by difficulty

  • blue 111.2 km
  • red 48.4 km
  • black 19.4 km

The split comes from OpenStreetMap. A run with no difficulty tag falls into none of the three bars, so they can add up to less than the resort total.

This is snowfall, not snow depth on the slope: it says how much usually falls in a given month, not how much lies there. The measuring point sits close to the valley floor, so higher up it snows more.

Places to stay by the lift

Distance is measured in a straight line to the base station of the nearest lift. No booking site publishes that number — it comes from matching accommodation against lift geometry.

  • 4 within 300 m
  • 16 within 1 km
  • 50 places in the valley

The closest one stands 115 m from a lift.

Is Montgenèvre (Via Lattea) worth it?

Montgenèvre stands on a pass right on the France–Italy border and is part of the Via Lattea (the "Milky Way") — a large cross-border area that links the French side to the Italian resorts of Sestriere and Sauze d'Oulx. It is one of the oldest ski spots in France; people skied here before skiing was fashionable.

In our measurement from OpenStreetMap the Montgenèvre side alone comes to about 91 km of pistes, inside a far larger Via Lattea whole. The balance leans to easy runs; it is a comfortable starting point for families, from which you can ride deeper into the domain on the Italian side.

The pass lies high and on the dry, sunny side of the Alps, so days here are often clear, and the natural snow is backed by extensive snowmaking. The season usually runs from December to April; check exact elevations with the operator.

We give the ski pass as a six-day adult ticket for the whole international Via Lattea area: €294.50 from the resort's rate list (checked 13 August 2026). Check prices with the operator before you travel. The drive from Poland: about 1,382 km from Wrocław, 1,468 from Katowice, 1,543 from Kraków.
