This is snowfall, not snow depth on the slope: it says how much usually falls in a given month, not how much lies there. The measuring point sits close to the valley floor, so higher up it snows more.

Distance is measured in a straight line to the base station of the nearest lift. No booking site publishes that number — it comes from matching accommodation against lift geometry.

  • 183 places in the valley

The closest one stands 344 m from a lift.

What makes Nauders am Reschenpass different

Nauders sits high on the Reschenpass, in western Tyrol, at the corner where the borders of Austria, Italy and Switzerland meet. The village lies on the pass at about 1,400 m, and that altitude is what counts here: the season starts early and holds long. Just below the pass, on the Italian side, lies Lake Reschen with the tower of a submerged church rising from the ice — the most recognisable sight in this corner of the Alps.

The skiing is on the Bergkastel, the mountain above the village, whose lifts carry you up toward the rocky Bergkastelspitze at nearly 2,850 m. This is an area with a clear majority of red runs — more wide, even descents for confident skiers than gentle slopes for beginners or steep pitches for experts. Much of the terrain faces the sun, hence the Sonnenskilauf tag the region likes to give itself.

The altitude and position give snow that is more reliable than in the lower valleys. The weather model shows around 116 cm in November, 129 in December, and still over 100 in March — one of the more snow-sure resorts in this set, and without leaning on a glacier to get there. The runs drop from a high ridge, so the snow up top holds well into spring.

The Nauders-Bergkastel pass is cheap by Austrian standards: the 6-day adult costs €348.50 in the 2026/27 main season (bergfex data, checked August 2026, a fixed price). Check prices with the operator before you travel, as they change each season. The drive from Poland is longer than to most Austrian resorts in this set, as this is the far western edge of Tyrol against the Italian border — about 806 km from Wałbrzych, 934 from Wrocław, 978 from Katowice, 1,054 from Kraków.
