Runs by difficulty

  • blue 15.0 km
  • red 49.8 km
  • black 17.4 km

The split comes from OpenStreetMap. A run with no difficulty tag falls into none of the three bars, so they can add up to less than the resort total.

This is snowfall, not snow depth on the slope: it says how much usually falls in a given month, not how much lies there. The measuring point sits close to the valley floor, so higher up it snows more.

Places to stay by the lift

Distance is measured in a straight line to the base station of the nearest lift. No booking site publishes that number — it comes from matching accommodation against lift geometry.

  • 12 within 300 m
  • 111 within 1 km
  • 448 places in the valley

The closest one stands 35 m from a lift.

Is Bormio worth it?

Bormio lies in the Alta Valtellina in Lombardy, where the valleys meet below the Stelvio Pass. It is famous for one of the hardest World Cup downhills -- the Stelvio course drops nearly a thousand metres from the summit almost without a break. The town also has Roman-era thermal springs.

In our measurement from OpenStreetMap it comes to about 82 km of pistes above the town. For that figure the share of hard runs is high -- Bormio is a resort for confident skiers rather than beginners, though there is easier terrain lower down.

The runs reach above 3,000 m and the lower ends drop to the town at around 1,200 m, so the vertical is exceptionally large, and the main descent is among the longest continuous runs in the Alps. The season usually runs from December to April.

The price we give is a one-day adult ticket -- €63 from the high-season rate list (checked 14 August 2026). Check prices with the operator before you travel. The drive from Poland is, per OpenStreetMap, about 1,007 km from Wrocław, 1,052 from Katowice and 1,127 from Kraków.
