This is snowfall, not snow depth on the slope: it says how much usually falls in a given month, not how much lies there. The measuring point sits close to the valley floor, so higher up it snows more.

Places to stay by the lift
Distance is measured in a straight line to the base station of the nearest lift. No booking site publishes that number — it comes from matching accommodation against lift geometry.

What makes Ankogel Mallnitz different
Mallnitz sits in Carinthia, inside the Hohe Tauern National Park, and the Ankogelbahn cable car carries you from the village at around 1,200 m up toward the ridge near 2,600 m. This is not a big resort from the brochures — it is a high, steep, quiet mountain on the edge of Austria's tallest range. If what you want in this set is a place with no crowds and no lift queues, this is it.
The terrain is small but, in this company, the steepest: of its two dozen or so runs, a full third are hard black pistes, and a long descent drops from the top station toward the valley. This is a mountain for confident skiers, for ski-tourers, and for anyone after open off-piste space within the park — less so for someone still making their first turns. Six lifts are enough here, because there are so few skiers to carry.
Snow is rarely in short supply on the Ankogel. The weather model gives December around 134 cm and November 116, with February and March still close to a metre — some of the highest figures in this whole set. The altitude, the north-facing aspect and the Hohe Tauern setting do their work: the cover is reliable and the slopes stay empty well into the season. This is a resort for someone who values the quiet of a national park over a lively après-ski.
The ski pass is cheap by Alpine standards: the adult day ticket is €54 in the 2025/26 season (a fixed price, source bergfex; the resort's own pricelist is often unreachable). Check prices with the operator before you travel, as they change each season. The drive is among the shortest in this set — about 760 km from Katowice, 762 from Wałbrzych, 836 from Kraków, 840 from Wrocław — and Mallnitz is also reached by the Tauernbahn railway, with cars carried through the tunnel under the pass, so you can get here without driving the switchbacks.
