Runs by difficulty

  • blue 39.0 km
  • red 35.2 km
  • black 22.4 km

The split comes from OpenStreetMap. A run with no difficulty tag falls into none of the three bars, so they can add up to less than the resort total.

This is snowfall, not snow depth on the slope: it says how much usually falls in a given month, not how much lies there. The measuring point sits close to the valley floor, so higher up it snows more.

Places to stay by the lift

Distance is measured in a straight line to the base station of the nearest lift. No booking site publishes that number — it comes from matching accommodation against lift geometry.

  • 12 within 300 m
  • 94 within 1 km
  • 299 places in the valley

The closest one stands 137 m from a lift.

What makes Kronplatz different

Kronplatz has no "other side of the valley" to slog across. It is a single dome above the Val Pusteria, and its runs drop off every side — down to Brunico, Riscone, Valdaora and San Vigilio. From any of those towns you ride up to the same summit and come back down a different face of the mountain, without repeating a run. It is one of the few Alpine peaks you can ski right around.

You go up in a cabin: of 27 lifts, 22 are gondolas, so you will barely stand in a cold lift queue here. There are 151 marked runs and they lean easy — 90 blue, 45 red, 16 black. It is a mountain of wide, groomed cruisers where beginners and families do well; if you want steep pitches you will find them, but they are the minority.

Snow reaches Kronplatz early. In the climate model November and December each bring about 110 cm, more than January or February, so the ski season opens before Christmas; the dome tops out above 2,200 m and holds cover longer than the valley stations. The pricelist's high season is the Christmas–New Year stretch and February into the first half of March — the dearest, busiest weeks.

The pass at Kronplatz is the Dolomiti Superski, the same one that opens the region's other valleys. A six-day ski pass in high season costs €404 (the resort's pricelist, checked August 2026) — check prices with the operator before you travel, as they change each season. From Poland the drive runs through Austria and the Brenner: about 860 km from Katowice, over 1,150 from Warsaw.
