Jasná, Slovakia
Demänovská dolina, Niżne Tatry
Piste length and lift count as given by the resort, checked 2026-08-13: www.jasna.sk
Runs by difficulty
- blue 60.8%
- red 31.1%
- black 8.1%
The split comes from OpenStreetMap. A run with no difficulty tag falls into none of the three bars, so they can add up to less than the resort total. The split itself is computed from OpenStreetMap measurements, which cover 80.7 km of runs.

When to go
A ten-winter average, computed from a weather archive for a point at 914 m above sea level.
Average snowfall per month, in centimetres.

| day | 4° | 0° | -2° | 1° | 5° | 10° |
| night | 0° | -3° | -6° | -4° | -2° | 1° |
This is snowfall, not snow depth on the slope: it says how much usually falls in a given month, not how much lies there. The measuring point sits close to the valley floor, so higher up it snows more.

Places to stay by the lift
Distance is measured in a straight line to the base station of the nearest lift. No booking site publishes that number — it comes from matching accommodation against lift geometry.
- 41 within 300 m
- 100 within 1 km
- 160 places in the valley
The closest one stands 35 m from a lift.

What makes Jasná different
Jasná skis both sides of Chopok, and every day here starts with that choice. The north side sits in the Demänovská valley — both gondolas, Biela Púť and Grand, start there — the south side in the Bystrá valley, where the Srdiečko, Trangoška and Krupová stops are. One pass covers both, but your car stays on the side you parked on, so the morning parking decision lasts all day.
The lowest lift starts at 1,028 m and the top station stands at 2,004 m. Close to a kilometre of vertical on a single descent is the reason people drive here for a weekend rather than staying in the Polish Beskids.
From Kraków it is 182 km and roughly three hours twenty, from Katowice 259 km, from Warsaw 477 km and six and a half hours — one border on the way and no third country. For comparison, Livigno, the other resort with a trip planner here, is 1,121 km from Kraków, four borders and over twelve hours of driving. Jasná fits into a weekend; Livigno does not.
Snowfall peaks in December and January at around 60 cm a month; February brings 48 cm, March 28 cm. Those figures come from a climate model computed for an elevation of 914 m — the valley floor — while the lifts stand a kilometre higher, so the runs get correspondingly more. Passes are sold through GOPASS at a price that depends on the day and on how early you buy: a one-day pass runs from about €19 to about €71 (checked 9 August 2026), so work out the budget only once you know your dates.
There are 160 places to stay within five kilometres, 41 of them closer than 300 m to the base station and the nearest one 35 m away — walking to the lift in ski boots is a real option here, not just a line in a hotel description. The same valley leads to the caves: Jaskyňa slobody and Ľadová jaskyňa each have their own bus stop on the way, which makes a plan for a windy day.
