Uri/Obwalden

Runs by difficulty

  • blue 16.9 km
  • red 20.4 km
  • black 4.6 km

The split comes from OpenStreetMap. A run with no difficulty tag falls into none of the three bars, so they can add up to less than the resort total.

This is a geographic map, not the painted panorama a resort publishes: the runs are where they really are, but the mountain is not drawn as a bird’s-eye view.

Lift pass

Prices are dynamic — they depend on the day you ski and how early you buy, so there is no single number to give. Check the resort’s price list.

This is snowfall, not snow depth on the slope: it says how much usually falls in a given month, not how much lies there. The measuring point sits close to the valley floor, so higher up it snows more.

Places to stay by the lift

Distance is measured in a straight line to the base station of the nearest lift. No booking site publishes that number — it comes from matching accommodation against lift geometry.

  • 2 within 300 m
  • 22 within 1 km
  • 58 places in the valley

The closest one stands 266 m from a lift.

Is Engelberg-Titlis worth it?

Engelberg lies in central Switzerland, at the foot of the Titlis glacier, around an old Benedictine abbey from which it takes its name (Engelberg means "mountain of angels"). A revolving cable car climbs to the summit, and the Titlis itself is the highest lift-served point in the central Alps.

In our measurement from OpenStreetMap it comes to about 42 km of marked pistes, but the resort's fame rests on the terrain beyond them -- long freeride descents like the Laub and Galtiberg draw skiers after deep snow. The groomed runs are mostly intermediate.

The glacier reaches above 3,000 m and the town sits at around 1,000 m, so the vertical is very large, and the glacier setting gives reliable snow up high. The season usually runs from November to May.

The lift-pass price at Engelberg is dynamic -- the resort sets it by day and by how far ahead you buy, cheaper in advance, so we give no single figure; check it with the operator as you book. The drive from Poland is, per OpenStreetMap, about 1,082 km from Wrocław, 1,235 from Katowice and 1,310 from Kraków.
